Doesn't appear to have been a chain; all look to be rental storefronts.
I've wondered many times what those were; there is even another one further west on Devon in Park Ridge.

I guess you're right. I knew it was somewhere in Park Ridge; I must have be thinking of something else that was on Devon.
I love that one on Bryn Mawr, I work just a few blocks from there. Great pictures!
I'm guessing that it was just a developer who built the same thing over and over, much like today. Or someone copied something that they liked and was successful....
