I spent most of my summer days w/her in her room. I've never been able to solve the mystery of why she had a private room, on a corner, & why I was allowed to spend my days w/her. I was only 11yo. There were times the staff & doctors would ask me to leave & one day, in a happy accident, discovered this chapel that you have photographed so well. I gazed for long intervals that summer at the mosaics. They were responsible for me coming to know there was a greater power at work. My mother died that fall: she was only 38 yrs old. I've never returned to the chapel, but remember it in astoundingly accurate detail.
